Part-Time Student Employment Opportunities
The Turchin Center offers several employment opportunities for students on a part-time basis that support Appalachian’s academic integrity by providing:
- Individualized, hands-on training in a real world setting;
- Leadership roles on integrated projects with visual arts programming;
- Career enhancement through training opportunities and mentoring;
- Opportunities for internships, volunteering, research, and special projects; and
- Valuable interaction with contemporary artists.
A resume and cover letter will be requested from all applicants. Cover letters should directly address your interest in working for the Turchin Center, why you would make an excellent addition to our team, and specify the areas in which you may be interested in working. Areas include: Gallery Ambassadors (Security), Collections, Gallery Assistants and general office assistants.)

Volunteer Program Opportunities
There are many volunteer opportunities available for individuals and groups. You can now join a dedicated group of people who take great pride in helping the TCVA fulfill its mission. Volunteers play a very important role to the Turchin Center and serve as a community goodwill ambassador. Learn more.
Internship Opportunities
The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is dedicated to offer a range of internship, independent study or volunteer opportunities for students. These internships are tailored to individual needs while meeting the goals of the center. Internships offer hands-on experience in a professional and creative environment. A current resume and cover letter will be requested from all applicants. Cover letters should directly address your interest in interning for the Turchin Center, a brief outline of your goals, and specify the areas in which you may be interested in working. Materials may be mailed or e-mailed. (Areas for Internships may include: Professional Writing, Event Planning, Curatorial, Research, and Collections Management). Please e-mail the Turchin Center at turchincenter@appstate.edu for questions. Internships are non-paid positions. Applications for Summer 2012 are due by April 2, 2012.
