Join us for a special exhibition of life drawing at the TCVA to celebrate ASU’s Department of Art & the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts partnership. This special exhibition presents drawings from the first ever Spring Draw-A-Thon that occurred last weekend. (Friday 5pm-8pm)
Details about the Draw-A-Thon:
The Spring Draw-a-thon was a free campus and community inclusive event that celebrates and promotes drawing, creativity, spontaneity, and artistic collaboration. Students, professors, and local artists (of all levels and ages) were invited to gather at the Turchin Center to draw from life models during a two-day event with the goal of creating a casual, fun atmosphere that is open to the curious novice, the devoted expert, and every level in between.
We were pleased to that Artpurveyors.com served as the official sponsor for Draw-A-Thon who featured products from General Pencil Company of Jersey City, New Jersey, with special thanks to Mike Hill.
Organizational and program support was provided by the Arts Management Organization (AMO), the Looking Glass Gallery, the Plemmons Student Union, and TCVA Community Art School. Our community sponsors include: Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Papa Johns Pizza, Mountain Bagels, Stick Boy Bread Company, Espresso News, Ingles Markets, Inc., Lowes Foods, Inc, and Harris Teeter. Each of these local businesses has graciously donated supplies for this event. We were grateful to partner with so many wonderful sponsors that donated time and services to this event.
This event ws organized by the Department of Art and the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts and is sponsored by the Arts Management Organization (AMO).
