The Turchin Center joins in partnership with sixteen North Carolina artists to present the 2010-2011 North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship Award Exhibition.  Featured artists include: Elizabeth Brim, Phoebe Brush, Kirk Fanelly, Gail Fredell, Maja Godlewska, Christopher Holmes, Mark Iwinski, Young Kim, Anne Lemanski, Nava Lubelski, Sean Pace, Susan Harbage Page, Vita Plume, Shoko Teruyama, Bob Trotman, and Linda Vista.

Appalachian State University students take advantage of the opportunity to explore photography and printmaking in Costa Rica during the summer of 2011. As a capstone experience, selections of the students’ creative are featured in a thematic art exhibition.

The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts and the Catherine Smith Gallery partner with environmental artist Bryant Holsenbeck to create an installation. This project will raise awareness of environmental issues while encouraging community participation.

Artist opportunities

The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts (TCVA) offers multiple exhibition and programming opportunities for established, as well as emerging artists. The TCVA focuses on a variety of techniques in two and three-dimensional media. Artist proposals will be accepted at any time and are reviewed by committee on a rotating basis. Learn more
