	Robert Goodnough: Abstract Expressionism & Beyond This exhibition features work by the renowned American abstract expressionist painter, Robert Goodnough (1917-2010). Exhibition ends: Saturday, June 2, 2012
	Senegal: A Window into Francophone West Africa The project is a partnership with the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures, where the Fulbright-Hays grant was awarded. The resulting exhibition will feature artwork from artists in Senegal as well as images and research gathered by participants during the Summer of 2011. Children’s art workshops related to the event are also being planned. Exhibition ends: Saturday, March 31, 2012
	2012 Department of Art Biennial Exhibition Faculty exhibitions provide a great opportunity for students to view and discuss artwork produced by their teachers. They also give other faculty at Appalachian State and the Boone community a chance to engage with the many ideas and practices being explored and taught within the Department of Art. 	The Artine & Teddy Artinian Self-Portrait Collection: Selections from the Permanent Collection The Artine & Teddy Artinian Self-Portrait Collection is a significant collection of self-portraits by North Carolina artists. 	9th Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition The 9th AMPC continues to be a prominent, regional photography competition, which attracts the work of amateur and professional photographers from across the country. This competition allows photographers the opportunity to celebrate the unique people, places and pursuits that distinguish the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Exhibition ends: Saturday, June 2, 2012
	Padre e Figlio: Father and Son Works by Mario Prisco and Richard Prisco Painter and studio furniture designer, father and son, join to present an exhibition combining the two artist’s dynamic qualities with their complementary, yet unique styles. Exhibition ends: Saturday, March 24, 2012

Artist opportunities

The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts (TCVA) offers multiple exhibition and programming opportunities for established, as well as emerging artists. The TCVA focuses on a variety of techniques in two and three-dimensional media. Artist proposals will be accepted at any time and are reviewed by committee on a rotating basis. Learn more
